The 280 TE is the popular Mercedes-Benz W123-series estate car, produced between 1978 and 1986. Its engine is an in-line 6-cylinder, 2746 cc M110 petrol engine, which produces 185 hp (or ~177 hp in the earlier version) and 240 Nm of torque, providing relatively strong and balanced performance. The car combines comfort and practicality with a rear-wheel drive, 5-door estate body, a spacious interior and a large luggage compartment — an excellent family car or for longer trips. The reputation of the W123 series was built on reliability, durability and simple but solid construction — the 280 TE is still considered by many to be a “classic, usable veteran”.
